The first book of the Glorybound series

Callan, a young man who joined the military academy in hopes to become a brave knight finds out the life of a soldier isn't all it's cut out to be in times of peace. Unable to withstand the monotony any longer, he abandons his post for the life of a vagabond. It isn't long before fate takes a turn for the worst. A surprise encounter with a group of bandits forces young Callan to take his first life, and his world begins to crumble. Do great heroes really exist? Is there any glory to be had in battle? Or is it all senseless bloodshed?

Fate takes another turn when Callan encounters a strange man in the secluded monastery of Zirmar. A man who insists that magic is more than just something that exists in fairytales and children's stories. Even more than that, he insists this power is being locked away and hidden intentionally. The only questions now are "by whom?" and "why?"
